Transportation Division Director NEW MEXICO PUBLIC REGULATION COMMISSION The Transportation Division Director serves the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission and its Commissioners. This position manages day-to-day operations of the various Bureaus and functions of the Transportation Division including: Applications, Insurance, Investigations, Inspections, Railroad Safety, and Pipeline Safety. Manages Motor carrier regulation and enforcement; Railroad safety enforcement; Pipeline safety; and Ambulance standards Requires direct supervision of various positions within the Transportation Division, including the Bureau Chiefs of the Investigations and Inspections, Railroad, and Pipeline Safety Bureaus, and other Transportation Division employees as required; Requires familiarity with and application of state and federal statutes and rules governing the Commission, motor carriers, railroads, and pipeline safety; Responsible for administration of the Unified Carrier Registration Program, a compact among 41 states and the federal government that collects over $3.2 million annually for the State of New Mexico from interstate carriers; May require testimony in administrative proceedings before the Commission, legislative hearings, and other engagements involving public speaking. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: A Bachelor's degree in public administration or business. Seven (7) years of experience in Motor Carrier, Railroad Safety, Pipeline and Ambulance regulation. Four (4) years of management experience is required. Salary- $48,869 - $110,000 per year with benefits. Salary based on qualifications and experience. This is a GOVEX "At Will" position.
