Buford “Buff” E. Siebuhr, 86, passed away Saturday evening April 15, 2017, with his family by his side at Hospice House of Reno County in Hutchinson, Kansas.
He was born May 10, 1930, in Lebo, Kansas, to Leonard and Opal (Summa) Siebuhr Sr. He lived and grew up on a farm in Hartford, Kansas. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was in the Air National Guard for four years. He was a barber for 55 years, owner and operator of Buff’s Barber Shop in Hutchinson, Kansas, as well as local musician. He was married to Jaunita JoAnne Stansbury and later divorced. He later married Joyce Marshall Vines on May 11, 1974.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister; Carma Grace Hollar; a brother, Leonard L. Siebuhr Jr.; a son, Patrick J. Siebuhr;and a stepson, Kirk Stansbury.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Joyce Siebuhr; a son, Kipp E. (Lucia) Siebuhr; granddaughters Ciara (Cody) Ashby and Kaila DeCicco; great-grandson Gunner Dale Ashby; brother Eldon (Wilma) Siebuhr; and sisters Theda Wolford, Audrey Ann Ziegler and Elaine Smith.
Visitation was held Thursday, April 20, 2017, with family present. The funeral service was held Friday, April 21, 2017, with both at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel and committal to following at Fairlawn Burial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Hospice House of Reno County or Parkinson’s Research.
